*an ode to a favorite Willem De Kooning painting ‘Rosy Fingered Dawn’ that he painted on the East Coast seashore, and referencing originally the journey of Odysseus' in The Odyssey where the metaphor of the dawn symbolizes Odysseus’ evolution from immaturity, maturity, to fulfillment. The progression of Odysseus' development of is mirrored in the unfolding of day, from dawn to dusk. And the phrase, “rosy-fingered dawn” celebrates the beginning of Odysseus’ journey.
